Review Methodology
The exact steps we run on a Nigerian account, the four score weights that sit next to every rating, and the rule that an unpublished fact is written as "not published".
- 4 weighted groups
- Tested from ₦100
- Re-read monthly
A page here is built by opening a real account from Nigeria, moving naira in and out, and scoring four groups with fixed weights: cashier 30%, games 25%, licence 25%, support and mobile 20%. The short overview is on the About page; this page is the full protocol.
Who Writes These Pages
Two roles touch every page before it goes live: the reviewer who runs the tests, and a separate pass that only re-reads facts. Keeping them apart means the person who wrote a sentence is not the one who signs it off.

Checks: that the test account was opened and funded from Nigeria.
Checks: that each game type was opened on a phone, not only described.
Checks: that the withdrawal time on the page is the time measured.
Fact-checking pass
Second read before publication
Checks: every naira figure against the live cashier help page.
Checks: every promotion date against the promotions list.
Checks: that no sentence names a fact the sources do not print.
The reviewer name is the same one shown in the byline at the bottom of each page, so a reader can match the signature on a page to the role described here. No biography beyond the role is given on purpose; the work is meant to be judged from the protocol below.
The Testing Protocol, Step by Step
The same nine steps run before a page is first published and again at every monthly re-check. A step that cannot be completed is recorded as such, and the page says so.
- 1
Open an account from Nigeria
Registration is done on a Nigerian number, with the phone physically inside the country, because the operator limits accounts to people located in Nigeria and a wallet that only holds naira.
- 2
Fund the wallet from ₦100
The smallest deposit the cashier accepts is used, by card or by a bank app, and we note whether it is credited instantly and whether any fee appears at the confirmation screen.
- 3
Play across slots, crash and live tables
At least one session in each product type is opened on a phone: a Pragmatic Play slot, one of the Sporty Games crash titles and a live or table game. We record whether the lobby loads, whether stakes can be changed and whether a round survives a weak connection.
- 4
Request a withdrawal to a Nigerian bank account
The payout goes to a bank account in the same name as the player profile, which is the only route the operator allows. The amount is kept small so that the test does not trigger a manual review by accident.
- 5
Time it
The clock starts at the request and stops when the money is visible in the bank app. A result is written down as a measured time on a named day, never as a promise, and it sits next to the operator wording for comparison.
- 6
Re-read the cashier help pages
Limits, methods and wording are read again in full, because help pages are edited without notice and often change before the cashier screen does.
- 7
Re-read the promotions list
Each running offer is opened for its dates, its prize pool and its conditions. Anything past its end date leaves the page that day.
- 8
Re-read the licence line
The footer wording is copied exactly, and the Lagos register row is looked at again for the name and the term it shows.
- 9
Re-read the app store entries
Version, age rating and the package or store id are matched on both platforms, so that the app section never describes a release that has been replaced.
Scoring Criteria and Their Weights
Four groups, four fixed weights, summing to 100%. The formula is published in full so that any rating on this site can be rebuilt by a reader from the inputs.
- Cashier and payouts30%Deposit routes, limits, fees, payout time against the operator wording.
- Games and studios25%Named studios, range of product types, how the lobby behaves on a phone.
- Licence and trust25%Licence line, register entry, clarity of terms, what is left unpublished.
- Support and mobile20%Help routes, app store state, stability of the apps on both platforms.
What moves a group up or down
Cashier and payouts rises when the measured withdrawal matches the printed claim, when fees are zero at the confirmation screen and when the limits on the help page match the cashier. It falls when a route in the help text is missing from the screen, or when a payout waits past the 48 hours after which the operator asks you to contact support.
Games and studios rises with the number of product types that opened and played properly in the test, and with studios that can be named from the lobby itself. It falls when a title is advertised but cannot be found. The game count is not published, so quantity is never scored.
Licence and trust rises when the operator licence line and the register entry point at the same company and the terms are written plainly. It falls for every detail that a player would reasonably want and cannot find, such as licence validity dates. Missing information is scored as missing; it is not filled in with an assumption.
Support and mobile rises when help is reachable inside the app and when store entries are current. It falls when a release is old, when an age rating is unclear or when opening hours would matter but are not printed.
One rule about every score
A score is never published without these four weights next to it. We also do not print an overall number for SportyBet on this page: it explains the method, and a figure placed here would be a result without a test date.
What a Fact Must Survive Before It Is Printed
Sources are tried in a fixed order, and a lower source never overrules a higher one.
- First
- Operator pages
- Second
- Nigerian regulators
- Third
- App stores
- Fourth
- Game studios
The operator pages answer questions about limits, methods and running promotions. The Nigerian regulators, the national NLRC wording and the Lagos register, answer questions about who is licensed. The app stores supply versions, ratings and age labels. A game studio is consulted only for what it publishes about its own titles, for instance the Pragmatic Play Drops & Wins pool and its end date.
What "not published" means
It is a result, not a gap in the research. When the operator prints no figure, we write exactly that and move on. A guess has two costs: a player may act on it, and the page then has to defend something nobody can check. These five items fall under that rule today:
- Casino game count. The lobby is drawn inside the app and no total is printed, so none appears here.
- Welcome bonus. The casino side shows running tournaments and drops, not a sign-up package, so there is no bonus score to give.
- Support hours. Help routes exist, but their opening times are not stated.
- Office address. The footer names the licence, not a street.
- NLRC licence dates. The number is printed; its start and end are not.
How We Fix Mistakes
If a figure on a page differs from what the cashier shows you, the operator is right and our page is stale. Note which page, which figure and what your screen shows, and pass it on through the support lines printed in the site footer. This page lists no contact lines of its own.
Every report follows the same path. The figure is re-read at the source on the day it arrives, the sentence is changed if the source disagrees with us, and the page byline is updated.
- Updated date. Moves whenever any wording or number on the page changes.
- Checked date. Moves when facts were re-read, even if nothing needed changing.
- Published date. Never moves, so the age of the page stays honest.
Patch or rewrite
A single wrong number is patched. A section is rewritten when the error shows that the method was wrong, for instance when a payout time was taken from a help page without being measured, or when two figures in the same section depended on one old limit. Rewrites keep the original published date.
When a limit changes mid-month
The monthly cycle is a floor, not a ceiling. If the operator changes a limit, a payout window or a promotion date between checks, the affected page is re-read as soon as the change is seen, and the old value is removed rather than kept as history. If the site itself is unreachable while we try to confirm a change, the status page explains what to check first.
Who This Guide Is Not For
A method is only useful if it is clear about its limits. These readers will get little from this guide:
- People outside Nigeria. The tests, the naira cashier and the licence wording all belong to a Nigerian account, and the holder must be in the country.
- Anyone under 18. The service is 18+ only and nothing here is written for younger readers.
- Readers who want a ranking. We cover one brand only, so there is no list of other operators and no side-by-side table of brands.
What you will find instead are pages by topic, such as roulette on the platform and the way the betting site and the casino share a wallet, each written with the same protocol as this one.
Myths About Casino Reviews
"A high score means something on its own"
A score is only the output of weights. Without the four groups beside it you cannot tell whether payouts or lobby decoration produced it.
"A longer review is a better one"
Length often means filler. A short page with a measured payout time and dated limits tells you more than pages of adjectives.
"A bonus figure must exist somewhere"
Not always. When no sign-up bonus is printed, the honest entry is "not published", and the tournaments that really run take its place.
The same logic applies to the offers a player may want to act on. If you want to see which tournaments and drops are live today, open the casino tab and compare its promotions list with our latest checked date before you stake anything.
Review Methodology: Common Questions
What is the casino review methodology used on this site?
Each page starts with a live test on a Nigerian account, then every fact is matched to an operator page, a Nigerian regulator, an app store or a game studio. Scores, where they are shown, use four fixed weights: cashier and payouts 30%, games and studios 25%, licence and trust 25%, support and mobile 20%.
Why do you not show one overall score for SportyBet here?
A single number without its inputs tells you very little. This page publishes the formula only; any rating on another page must appear with these four weights beside it.
What does "not published" mean on a page?
It means the operator does not print that detail anywhere we can read it. We write those words for the casino game count, a casino welcome bonus, support opening hours, an office address and the NLRC licence dates, instead of guessing.
How long does a payout test run before you write about it?
We time the withdrawal from the request to the credit in a Nigerian bank account and then compare it with the operator wording. SportyBet says payouts generally arrive instantly and that manual checks can take up to three working days, so both are reported.
What happens when SportyBet changes a limit during the month?
The figure is re-read, the page text is changed and the "checked" date in the byline moves. If the change alters how a section reads, the section is rewritten. See the status page if the site itself will not load.
Can I use this guide outside Nigeria?
No. Every amount is in naira, every payment route is a Nigerian one, and the account holder must be physically in Nigeria. Players elsewhere should not rely on any figure here.
Do you compare SportyBet with other operators?
No. The guide covers one brand, so comparisons are made by payment rail or game type, for example a card deposit against a bank transfer, never brand against brand.
